It has been awhile....

I haven't taken the time to update Connor's blog for awhile.  Things are pretty much the same around here.  I am getting bigger and slower, and Connor is getting bigger and faster; I am not sure how well the two go together.  I am trying very hard to accept the fact that this little guy is going to be two years old in less than a week.  Where oh where has the time gone?
Connor has been so cute with "baby."  He hugs my tummy and says "hi baby" and "love you baby."  He still sings songs to him every day.  He has told baby very sternly a few times to "come out!!!"  I am not sure if he really grasps the concept that there is a baby in my tummy or if he is just going with the flow.  Either way, my soon to be two year old is also soon to be a big brother.

Proud Mommy Moment

As we were eating dinner tonight, Connor wanted to sing!  I started singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and he started to sing with me, and I was amazed that he knew most of the words.  He has known a few words here and there, but tonight he was able to sing most of the song with me!

I also love how he sings "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse."  He sings the Mickey Mouse and then raises his voice when he sings the word Clubhouse.  He also sings the Hot Dog song from Mickey Mouse now.

I really hope Connor's love for music continues!  I just hope he gets his daddy's singing talent, not mine.

Baby #2 will also be in Blue!

For the last few months, I was dead set on waiting until the baby was born to find out if we were having a boy or girl.  Well, we had our ultrasound yesterday, and I just couldn't stand the suspense, so we found out!  Baby number two will also wear blue!  I am very excited to be the mother of two boys.

Baby was so active during the ultrasound.  He was moving all around, kicking his legs, arching his back, and waving his arms back and forth.  It was really fun to see how active he is already, though I am NOT looking forward to those kicks as he gets bigger.  Because he was moving around so much, they were not able to get a good look at his face, so we get to have another ultrasound in four weeks.  I can't wait to see how much he changes in the next month.

They also discovered that I have a low-lying placenta.  I guess it isn't anything to worry about right now as most placentas will eventually move higher throughout the pregnancy, but they are going to keep an eye on it as the pregnancy progresses.  If the placenta doesn't move, or if it drops, (which we will find out at another ultrasound at 32 weeks) they call it a previa...  and it is possible I may have to have the baby up to four weeks early.  So, I will keep you all as updated as possible.

As I write this post, Connor is playing with his new toys and singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" along with his Sesamie Street radio.  I am amazed at how many words to the song he knows, he must sing a lot at daycare.

With that, I am going to sign off and go play "cars" with my little man!

Learning Something New Every Day

I am finally sitting down in front of a computer to create a blog for my soon-to-be two year old.  My how the past 21 months have flown by.  Connor continues to be a blessing to us.  It is hard to remember life without him.  His vocabulary tripled over the Christmas holiday at my parents' house.  Connor spent all of his time playing with his older cousins.  He says things and Steve and I just giggle, wondering where he picked it up.  My favorite has to be "Look at that."  He will find something interesting or will build something with his blocks and with such enthusiasm yell at Steve or myself to "Look at that!"  He has also taken to the word "funny."  When something makes him laugh, he has to follow up with "funny..." which of course makes Steve and I giggle which causes Connor to laugh even harder.  It often times becomes a laughter chain.

Connor's attention span has really grown as well.  He has fallen in love with the show "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse."  We would have it on in the background while we were getting ready, and Connor would glance at the TV every once in awhile and say "mouse."  Now he asks to watch "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse."  He has even started to sing along with the characters on the show.  It is hilarious to hear him raise his voice when he sings.  I think he got my talent (or lack of talent for that matter) when it comes to singing.

Connor learns something new every day.  He is so much fun, and we find ourselves rushing home from work every day just to spend as much time with him as possible.  Three more months and my little bugaboo will be two years old.  WOW!  And, not long after that, he will become a big brother.  Life just keeps getting better every day.
